America: You've Been Rickroll'd.

Yes! If you don't know what a rickroll is, climb out from under your rock and read about it.

Happy Thanksgiving...

~EvidencE~

Happy Turkey Day everyone! It's been a bumpy world this past few months, and I'm sure we all have something to be thankful for. A job, a family, a roof over our heads...these are just a couple of things I'm thankful for this year. The holiday season is my absolute favorite...I can't wait to see the fun decorations on the homes in the neighborhood I drive through to get to work everyday. Time for movies and pumpkin pie - goodnight!

Shrimp Exercise Plan.

I have been crazy busy this week with limited computer access, but here's something amusing I came across!

Recessionista partying.

This is old news, but I was waiting to post it in the off chance I got to check one of these places out. Not so much just yet but maybe in the weeks to come!

Caroline on Crack wrote about a few places that are milking the economic woes for all they can. 35 cent drink specials? Paper bag bottle service? Time to party like it's 1929!

Oh, Jay.

Jay Leno uses some humor to lighten up SoCal in a less than funny time:

"It's great to be here in Los Angeles -- what's left of it. These wildfires continue to burn here in Los Angeles.

I tell ya, I haven't seen anything go up in smoke like this since my 401(k). The firefighters are doing a tremendous job.

The latest word is the fires are now 60% under control, which is pretty amazing when you realize the rest of L.A. is only 20% under control."

Fire, fire.

I went out of town for less than 36 hours and all hell broke loose in Southern California. I took a crazy pic (which I'll post tomorrow) while I was driving up the 405 at 8:30am on Saturday morning, driving into the billowing smoke. I-5 was shut down along with basically every other major freeway in Southern California this weekend (14, 118, 210, 57, 91...) as fires exploded around the southland. It took me 8 1/2 hours to get to the bay area (for perspective, it only took me 5 hours and 15 mins to get home once the 5 reopened). So many homes lost. I hope everyone is safe!

Stay updated here.

Santa Barbara on fire!

I have been so busy with life this week...but took pause tonight at the gym when I got news that one of my two homes away from home - my beautiful Santa Barbara - is on fire. I was just there last weekend! Thoughts and prayers with my friends who are still local there!

History in the making.

You'd have to be blind and deaf to not realize the history that is being made every moment these days.

Some of these moments were made last night, especially in Los Angeles and San Francisco:

Already November?

I hope everyone had a spooky and fun Halloween! I got to check out a fabulous 80s cover band at a bar in Long Beach...then headed to a country bar that reminded me a bit too much of the Brandin' Iron and my high school days. Dancing to Thriller with a bunch of rednecks in cowboy boots? So hilarious!

I'm loving the fall weather that started this weekend too. Thunderstorms and rain, and now it's breezy and cold in LA! I think soup for lunch and hot chocolate is definitely in order. If I haven't said it enough...I love fall!
